Bug Inspired!

28 March 18 Author:Michelle Gaffaney

Well not just bugs but birds too. We have been inspired by some excellent architectural building design projects that incorporate habitats for birds and wildlife within the fabric of the building.

Any new development is potentially taking away habitat space and it is important that this is taken into account in the new building.

We have come across this fantastic product from a Building Design Online article which provides nest boxes for birds within the bricks of a new building.

For projects that do not involve a brick new build the Grass Roof Company produce bug habitats which can be fixed to the side of existing buildings immediately increasing the habitat coverage for bugs and insects.

We will certainly be sure to look for ways that we can incorporate these kind of products into our building and renovation design from now on.
