Bookkeeper Role (part-time)
Barclay Firth is an Award Winning small and expanding Residential Property Development business, focused on building luxury homes. Along with our partners, we are seeking to grow the business in the key areas of Architecture, Interior Design and Project Management.
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to work freelance, in-house (Holme on Spalding Moor, East Yorkshire) weekly on a basis of flexible hours (approx. 20 – 30 hours per week). Friday is required in the office, flexibility on the other days/hours.
You will work primarily on the bookkeeping for Barclay Firth and then occasionally for Greenstone Design – on residential construction projects – including extensions and refurbishment of homes, bespoke designed one-off houses through to multiple housing developments.
This role will include using Xero and Quickbooks to help manage and produce;
- Detailed Business Cash Flow Forecast
- Project Budgeting – and Project Cash Flow – actual versus appraisal.
- P & L reports and Balance sheets quarterly for our quarterly business meetings
- Invoices payable
- Aged payables
- CIS monthly payments
- VAT monthly return
- Banking reconciliations
- managing all financial related queries, including producing regular financial reports using Xero Accountancy Software.
- answering the phone – occasionally.
To work with us you must have first-hand bookkeeping experience, be a self-starter and able to work independently. You must also be technically competent, preferably in the use of Microsoft Excel, Xero Accountancy software and QuickBooks.

Essential skills & Knowledge;
A minimum of 5 years Bookkeeping experience,
Financial related tools & accountancy software experience.
Able to work on a Freelance basis and available every Friday.
Hourly Rate subject to experience and skills.
Driving Licence and your own Transport is essential.
